I love AFL footy. Always have.

In fact I remember my very first kick of a footy! Do you? You see I so wanted a footy so bad back when the AFL was the VFL and I was just 3 years old!

So the big day had finally come. Covered in red shiny paper, I unwrapped my footy and kicked it so hard it smashed into a dozen pieces!

And so I bawled my eyes out... Nice one Easter Bunny! I was never to believe anything you did again!

Of course after getting egg on my face, I did end up getting my footy. They were made from brown plastic and a great start to many a kid's career, provided you didn't kick it on the pointy end. That hurt!

A few years later I remember going to my first game of VFL footy. I've still got the Footy Record as you can see below. Dad, Rowena my sister and I caught the train to the 'G' to see Melbourne play North. You see my sister barracked for Melbourne while my Dad and I barracked for St Kilda. We never got to see the Saints play at Moorabbin. I guess Mum wanted me to stay dry, the train was simpler and of course the 'G' was and still is the home of footy!

From aged 10 I was allowed to ride my bike anywhere so I'd ride to Glenferrie Oval, home of the Hawks, which was the closest ground to home in Burwood. So I first got to see Geelong play when I was 11.

Years later I was again to shed a tear. Yet this time it was from sheer unadulterated joy and pride as my son Ash ran out onto the 'G' to play footy!

And now, I live in Geelong which is without doubt, the most tribal footy town in Australia. I love it! The town, the Cats and how good is it when the two teams I follow sit 1 and 2 on the ladder half way through the season?

So watch the video below (all the way through) and witness the real tribal joy only footy can release!

Australian Numerals - Math 3.0!

Roman Numerals, Arabic Numerals & Australian Numerals!

Imagine an average guy who after failing math, made it his life purpose to help people like you feel like a math genius!   Well that guy is me and creating Australian Numerals has been a life long goal.  Why? In 1983, I shattered my spine. Unable to move, I made a promise...
.
If I was able to walk again and have kids, I'd change the way the world teaches kids maths. The promise was simple. Yet keeping it took me more than a quarter of a century! So now you can be one of the first in the world to learn Australian Numerals  ...absolutely free!
.
It won't take years... It might take you around 45 minutes to learn. So have fun and please tell your friends, family members and colleagues about my project. Thank you!
